IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR UPM'S 46TH CONVOCATION GRADUANS

In preparation of the UPM's 46th Convocation Ceremony which will be held on 26th November until 2nd December 2022, SGS has stopped all the process of collecting graduate documents (Senate Letters, Transcripts and Academic Certificates) for graduands involved in the UPM's 46th Convocation Ceremony until the ceremony conclude. The graduands involved are graduands who have been approved by the senate to graduate from November 2021 to November 2022.


NOTIS PENTING UNTUK GRADUAN MAJLIS KONVOKESYEN KE 46 UPM

Bagi persediaan untuk menghadapi Majlis Konvokesyen ke-46 UPM yang akan diadakan pada 26 November sehingga 2 Disember 2022, pihak SGS dengan ini menghentikan semua proses pengambilan dokumen berkaitan bergraduat (Surat Senat, Transkrip dan Sijil Akademik) bagi graduan yang akan terlibat dengan Majlis Konvokesyen ke-46 UPM sehingga majlis selesai. Graduan yang terlibat adalah graduan yang telah diluluskan senat untuk bergraduat bermula November 2021 hingga November 2022.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: REGARDING SUSPENDED STATUS

Dear Postgraduate Students,

Kindly check your study status, if your study status is 'Suspended' it might be one of the following reasons:

  1. Fail the PIE 2 twice. You are allowed to repeat the PIE 2 in the following semester but you will be barred from registering any other course. If you pass the PIE 2, you will be allowed to continue your study but if you fail, your candidature shall be terminated;
  2. Fails to submit an academic certificate after the first year of study. Failure to do so will result in termination in the following semester;
  3. Does not complete and pass the Research Proposal Seminar (SPS5903/SPS6903) after the second semester of study, failure to do so will result in termination in the following semester;
  4. Has not nominated a Supervisory Committee by the second semester of study, failure to do so will result in termination in the following semester;
  5. Does not complete and pass the Research Method before the third semester of study, failure to do so will result in termination in the following semester;
  6. Fail twice the prerequisite course for programme of studies. If you pass the prerequisite course, you will be allowed to continue your study but if you fail, your candidature shall be terminated in the following semester;

Therefore, kindly take necessary action for alteration of your study status from 'Suspended' to 'Continue' (if related) and to avoid any unnecessary circumstances.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR FIRST SEMESTER 2022/2023

Dear all postgraduate students,

Kindly be reminded, online course registration for First Semester 2022/2023 will starts from 19 September 2022 until 09 October 2022.

The registration for the course must done within stipulated period. Failing to act as required will lead to 'Dropped' status. Students are advised to save a copy of the Registration Slip for future reference.

NOTICE REGARDING TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES FIRST SEMESTER 2022/2023

To all staff and students:

1. As we are aware, the First Semester 2022/2023 for Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science and diploma programmes will commence on the 1st and 8th of August respectively. While the First Semester of 2022/2023 for bachelor and postgraduate studies will commence on 10th October 2022.

2. The Senate of Universiti Putra Malaysia at its 706th meeting on 21st of July 2022, in considering the current situation, agreed on the following:

(a) In principle, all students are required to return to campus in the First Semester of 2022/2023. However, teaching and learning (TnL) activities can be carried out in hybrid form during the first seven (7) weeks for diploma, bachelor and postgraduate studies. Therefore, international students who are unable to return to campus may follow the TnL online. The Faculty/School/Centre may determine the mechanism for TnL in hybrid form.

(b) After Week 7, all students, including international students who are still abroad, are required to return to campus. However, students who cannot follow a course that needs to be conducted physically, including international students who are still abroad and cannot return to campus, are required to drop subjects from registration or, where deemed necessary, to defer their studies for the First Semester of 2022/2023.

(c) If the need arises and with special approval from the Dean/Director of Faculty/School/Centre, TnL activities can be continued in hybrid form after Week 7.

3. Notwithstanding paragraph 2 above, all TnL activities for Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science Programme shall be conducted in physical form during First Semester of 2022/2023.

4. Please communicate with the respective Dean/Director for further details.

SUBMISSION OF PROGRESS REPORT (GS-11) FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER 2021/2022 (PROGRAMME BY RESEARCH ONLY)

Please be reminded that the last date for the Progress Report (GS-11) submission for the Second Semester 2021/2022 is on 11 July 2022. Also, the School of Graduate Studies will no longer provide any hardcopy of GS-11 since we are complying to COVID-19 SOP.

The submission of GS-11 can be made via student portal at http://sgsportal.upm.edu.my:8080/sgsportal/ (click menu Forms & Documents). Failure to do so will result in 'TM' for SPS5999/SPS6999.

ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE RECIPIENTS OF GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (GRF)/ SPECIAL GRADUATE RESEARCH ALLOWANCE (SGRA)/ GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP (GRA)

To ensure that the payment process of your GRF/SGRA/GRA financial assistance can be made within the stipulated period by the Bursar Office, please ensure you fill in the activity log in the Student Portal every month. Please make sure that the log is verified by your respective supervisor and must be completed before the 2nd of every month.

Any changes or updates will be notified via student email. Thus, please check you student email account from time to time.
